LEMON LAW
According
to J.D. Power, in 2003 Mercedes-Benz suffered from 3.18 defects
per vehicle, nearly twice as many as Buick, and approximately
50% more than Cadillac. Kia was the brand most likely to be a
lemon, at 5.19 defects per vehicle on average. Volkswagen was
close behind with 3.91. - J.D. Power Every state has different
lemon laws in place in regards to new car purchases that suffer
from a significant number of defects, or repeat defects that the
dealer is not able to repair. The are also several federal lemon
laws on the book that are similar to state lemon law. Lemon laws
even extend to other consumer goods, such as computers. If your
car, truck or SUV or computer is a lemon, you may be entitled to
receiving your money back, a cash settlement, or a replacement.
Under most state lemon laws, you have a specific amount of time
to declare your lemon car, lemon truck or lemon computer. Be
sure to check with an appropriate attorney if you believe your
case fits lemon law for proper protection of your rights.
